 Taste of Adventure

AGES 6 - 9 | SUN - WED | OVERNIGHT (SESSION 3)

Taste of Adventure, our “1st Timers Camp,” is a special short week of camp for younger children trying resident camp for the first time. The program is designed to give campers a taste of all the fun activities that camp has to offer while easing them through their first nights away from home. This is the perfect way for children to get a taste of what camp has to offer, make new friends and prepare them for a full week with even more possibilities later in the summer. Drop off between 2-4pm on Sunday, parent show 7pm on Wednesday.

Adventure Camp for Boys & Girls

AGES 7 - 12 | SUN - SAT | OVERNIGHT

Adventure Camp is summer camp at its best. For over 80 years, kids continue to make great memories at summer camp while surrounded by newly made friends and our supportive staff. Whether it’s learning to canoe, shooting a bull’s-eye or tie-dyeing a favorite shirt, each activity at camp is geared toward having a great time, while encouraging the YMCA core values: Caring, Honesty, Respect, Responsibility & Faith. Drop off between 2-4pm on Sunday, parent show at 9am Saturday.

Are you ready for the ultimate camp experience? Each day brings a different set of survival challenges for your camper to complete - one as a team and one as an individual. At the end of the day we'll have a ceremonial fire. The team challenge winners will get a reward for their team and have a chance to vote one member as the best team player. The individual challenge winner will be rewarded for their efforts as well. Challenges range from creative to physical. Drop off between 2-4pm on Sunday, parent show at 9am Saturday.

Leadership Camps

Leaders-in-Training (LIT)

AGES 15 - 16 | COED | TWO WEEKS (SESSIONS 2 & 3)

Leaders-In-Training (LIT) is a challenging and exciting program geared toward building leadership skills in a supervised and structured environment. Our goal is for the teens to take these skills back to their life outside of camp, where they will insert them into their clubs, teams and social groups. Fun and learning will take place in this two-week, limit-pushing program. The LIT program is a great stepping stone to our Counselor In Training (CIT) program. Drop off between 2-4pm on Sunday, parent show at 9am Saturday.

*There are limited spaces available. The LIT participants go home on the weekend. They will need to check in and out during the regular Resident Camp times.

Counselers-in-Training

AGES 16 - 17 | COED | THREE WEEKS (SESSIONS 5 through 7)

Counselors-In-Training (CIT) is a highly demanding and rewarding three-week program available to young leaders who have an interest in becoming counselors. The first week of the program will take place at Camp Y-Noah, learning the ins and outs of a traditional camp atmosphere. The second week will be spent at the Akron Rotary Camp learning to work with children with special needs. During the third week, CITs will apply to the camp they want to spend some time at shadowing counselors. Campes who excel in the program will get a chance to volunteer for Quest Week. Drop off between 2-4pm on Sunday, parent show at 9am Saturday.

The CIT program is available through application only, and we recommend all candidates complete the LIT program before applying. Once the three week program is finished, the CIT's can apply to be a Junior Counselor for the last week of camp.

Please Note: This is a three-week program. Campers will check in and check out each week during adventure camp times. Spots are limited and an application/interview process will be used to select the best CIT candidates. Please sign up using the registration form and the camp will mail an application to your child. This will be a great opportunity for your young leader.

Leadership Programs

Junior Counselor

Young adults who have completed the CIT program, but are ineligible to apply for a counselor position due to their age, may apply to join our staff as Junior Counselors. Junior Counselors (JC’s) must apply for this position with the Summer Camp Director. Once accepted, JC’s are assigned to a cabin with a Counselor to guide them in their continuing staff development. JCs are assigned to where they are needed most. These are volunteer positions and JC’s may volunteer for 2-4 weeks of the summer. Applications are available by calling the Camp Y-Noah office.
