Family Membership Policy
Our Family membership category is: two adults and any dependent children up to 24 years living in the same household. (Evidence may be requested.)
Return Check Policy
In an effort to keep our branches financially sound and in fairness to those who pay their fees on time, the following policies have been implemented.
If a check is returned NSF twice, it will be turned over for collection and a $20.00 fee will be instituted to cover the cost of collection.
Outstanding balances of $100.00 or more that are 30 days or more in arrears will be turned over to a collection agency.
Program Refund/Credit Policy
Participants who cancel prior to the start of a class may receive:
100% credit towards a future program (A refund check will be mailed in 2-4 weeks, less a $10.00 service charge.)
Refunds will not be issued after the session begins, except in cases of injury or illness. Please contact the director as soon as possible in order to receive a credit for unattended classes. Although we do our best to help all participants make up classes missed for personal reasons, we cannot guarantee that make up classes will be available.
Guest Policy
Members are welcome to bring 1-2 guests with them to enjoy the facility. Guest fees are: $5 for youth, $10 for adults and $15 for a family. Guests must remain with the member at all times. Guests may visit the facility up to 6 times in a calendar year and are required to provide a photo ID.
Aquatics Policy
The Akron Area YMCA policy is to test all children, less than 16 years of age, of their swimming ability for open/family swims, day camp, rental groups and birthday parties. After testing, children permitted in the deep end are given a green necklace or wristband for easy identification. The necklace or wristband must be returned before leaving the pool deck. The swimmer's results will be recorded and a sticker will be placed on their membership card. If there is only one lifeguard on duty you must wait until there is another available to take the swim test.
