Fun and Excitement, All Day Long
Summer Day Camps are one of the most popular programs that Rotary Camp offers. Campers enjoy traditional camp activities, while spending each night at home. This model program is a great alternative to traditional extended school year programs or day care. The days are packed full of activities and limited down time.
Day Campers are organized into small groups based on age and abilities. With the leadership of our exceptionally trained counselors, campers rotate through different camp activities including games, crafts, campfires, nature programs and more. Once familiarity is gained, many campers graduate onto the overnight camp experience.
At each of our day camps there are two counselors to every six campers. Other staff on site include the directors, program coordinators, behavior specialists, and nursing staff. The Akron Rotary Camp strives to meet the individual needs of each of the campers. Staff will work with families, teachers, and other support services to help provide successful experiences. However, the Akron Rotary Camp cannot provide one on one attention to campers with additional needs without the financial support from the camper's family or other provider networks.
The goals of our day camp programs are to develop social skills; promote physical activity; increase independence; raise self-esteem and develop the skills necessary to attend a week of overnight camp. The goals are accomplished through camp activities and programs, staff leadership and regular communication between camp staff and parents.
Transportation is available to qualifying individuals registered prior to April 15th.
If you have any questions about anyone of the programs listed below please feel free to call the camp office at 330.644.4512.
