Experience:
My love for camping started when I was 15 years old with my first job at an Easter Seals camp near my home. I started working at the Akron Y as a Rotary Camp cabin counselor, after my freshman year in college. It was the hardest job I ever had, but the most rewarding. I spent the rest of my collegiate career working summers between Rotary Camp and Camp Y-Noah doing a variety of jobs. I've been the director of the Akron Rotary Camp since 2000 and it continues to be the most rewarding experience of my life. The best part of working at the YMCA, is knowing that I'm making a difference in peoples' lives.
Qualifications:
I graduated from Slippery Rock University with a degree in Therapeutic Recreation. I am Christopher's and Kaylee's dad. They have taught me more about children than all of my camp experiences. I serve on the American Camp Association Board as the Vice President for the Ohio Section. I had the opportunity to present at regional camping conferences on a variety of subjects, including inclusion, disability education, and behavior management.
Hobbies & Interests:
I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. My favorite place to relax is at the family cottage in Slippery Rock, PA.
Favorite Book or Movie:

Summer of 2001
Experience:
I joined the Rotary Camp family in the summer of 2001 as a counselor and continued to come back until the summer of 2006. During that time I also worked at Y-Noah for their Outdoor Education program and weekend groups. My experience at camp has been rewarding on a personal and professional level, and continues to provide fun challenges and insights. Camp and the YMCA continues to shape the person that I am today. I enjoy working with the children and adults that we serve and feel privileged to develop and maintain the awesome programs at Rotary! I am also personally invested as my mother had Cerebral Palsy, and attended camp in her youth.
