Project 532

532 is very important to us at Rotary Camp.  No, it’s not the gallons of milk we drink each week or the number of times the waterfront director blows his whistle on a Thursday afternoon. It could be the inches between the dining hall and new bathhouse or perhaps the steps from the Gatehouse at Hale Farm to the Rotary Camp Barn.  But these are unverified hypotheses.

532 is the number of campers we are trying to give financial support to for attending Akron Rotary Camp programs.  This project is very important to our staff, volunteers, and board of trustees because the Akron Rotary Camp for nearly 75 years was a free program to the vulnerable youth of our community.

Yes, times have dictated change and program fees have become a vital part of camp's operation but we are committed to not turning anyone away for an inability to pay.  All programs are subsidized and no one is charged the actual cost of camp.  In addition last year Rotary Camp gave out over $107,000 in financial assistance to qualifying camper families.

How can you help us reach our goal?  The average financial assistance awarded is $200.  Please consider giving a gift you can afford by donating online or call the camp office at 330.644.4512 and ask for Bonnie.
