                  Youth and preschool Programs


The YMCA offers a variety of preschool and youth programs for all ages.  The YMCA is dedicated to offering fun, positive activities that build athletic, social and interpersonal skills.

Children can take age-appropriate programs such as Wee Tumblers, Tiny Fitness, Discovering Art, Ballet, CheerNatstics, Baton Twirling, Yoga, Creative Movement, Teen Boot Camp, Dodgeball, CATCH [youth obesity prevention program], Basketball, Running Club, Indoor Soccer, Volleyball, T-ball and much more! Programs take place in the Field House, outside, and in classrooms.

  • 1-3 Years Old - Wee Tumblers, Wee Fitness, Wee Music Makers, Wee Movement, Wee Stars.

Summer Youth Camps (registration online and in-house Opens Sunday, May 20th, 2018):
  • Volleyball Camp

Ages: 7 - 10years from 6:00 - 7:15pm

         11 - 14 years from 7:15 - 8:30pm

Times: Monday - Thursday

July 16th - 19th 

$30 Members and $60 Program Members. Developmental camp that allows all skill levels to learn the game of volleyball. This class works on the fundamentals and rules of the game so each athlete can improve his or her own techniques and skills.

  • Tennis Camp

Ages: 3 - 4 years from 9:15 - 10:00am

         5 - 7 years from 10:00 - 11:00am

         8 - 10 years from 11:00am - 12:00pm

Time: Monday - Friday

June 25th - 29th

July  23rd - 27th

$30 Members and $60 Program Members. Athletes will begin learning the basic skills of tennis. They will learn different stroke techniques, footwork, serving, and also teamwork. This class is intended for beginner tennis players. All players need a racquet. Tennis balls will be provided for the class.

  • Soccer Camp         

    Ages: 6  - 9 years

    Times: Wednesdays 7:30 - 8:15pm

     June 13th - August 1st

    $30 Members and $60 Program Members. This program focuses on the fundamentals of soccer through drills, games, and activities. Players will continue to develop their soccer skills and become a better teammate during the camp as well.                                                                                      

  • Drama Camp

Ages: 5 - 9 years from 9:00 - 10:30am

Ages: 10 - 14 years from 10:30am - 12:00pm

June 11th - 15th 

$30 Members and $60 Program Members. Come and join us for a drama workshop! This camp will provide drama exercises and games to build acting skills such as characterization, movement, pantomime, and improve; short scenes to teach reactions, timing, and working with others to create a story. Camp will also practice for a final performance and get a  sneak peak to behind-the-scene tech jobs.

  • Jump Rope Camp

    Ages: 5 - 14 years from 4:00 - 5:30pm

    July 9th - 12th or July 23rd - 26th

    $25 Members and $50 Program Members. Jump Rope Camp is designed to help jumpers learn jump rope beginner through intermediate single rope, pairs,  and long rope skills. This camp will focus on building character and leadership skills offering a positive environment that encourages jumpers to progress at their own pace. Jumpers will have an opportunity to work with a World Jump Rope Champion.  

  • Kid's Cross Training

    Ages: 5 - 14 years old from 4:00 - 5:30pm

    June 25th - 28th or July 30th - August 2nd

    $25 Members and $50 Program Members. Come to an exciting Kid's Cross Training Camp. Kids will learn how to safely perform upper and lower body strength training, speed and agility training and endurance challenges. The camp will help improve coordination and increase reaction time. Certified trainers will boost your child's enthusiasm to become physically fit in a positive learning environment!

Leagues and Ages:

  • 3-5 Years Old - Small Stuff Soccer League (Late February - Mid April).
  • 5-10 Years Old - Futsal Soccer League (Late February - Mid April). 
  • 5-12 Years Old - Youth Basketball League (January - February).

Dates: Tuesdays from 5:30 - 6:15pm

Special Needs Activities Program. This program will help individuals with developmental disabilities to learn and play various activities, sports, and fun movements. In addition, allow for the opportunity to socialize and learn new skills while making friends that will last a lifetime.  

Youth Wrestling Program

Led by the Wadsworth High School Wrestling Coaching Staff

Ages: Boys 1st - 6th grade

Cost: $30 Members/$60 Program Members  

Dates: Mondays & Wednesdays from October 22nd, 2018 - November 7th, 2018 (6 classes) 

Time: 6:00 - 7:00pm 

Must sign-up online or in-house at the Wadsworth YMCA. Registration is now open!

This unique opportunity allows youth to work with the premier wrestling coaches from Wadsworth High School to help develop wrestlers. Meet at the YMCA.

Program includes: 

  • Developing skills to become better overall athletes.
  • Promotes teamwork, self discipline and wrestling techniques.
  • Focus on tumbles, footwork, rules and fundamentals of wrestling.
  • Along with pinning combination, escapes and key nutrition components.


tiny chefs (5 total classes)

Ages: 3 - 5 years old

Cost: $35 Members/$65 Program Members


Aspiring Chefs

Ages: 6 - 9 years old

Cost: $35 Members/$65 Program Members

With parental assistance (no assistance for Aspiring Chefs), children will chop, grate, measure, stir and whisk their way through a culinary journey. Not only will Tiny Chefs learn an important life skill, cooking will help develop concentration, fine motor skills and coordination. This class will stimulate children's interest in food, tastes and nutrition.


Modern dance

Ages: 8 - 12 years old

Cost: $30 Members/$60 Program Members


Modern Dance is a free and expressive style not bound to the rules of ballet. This class will be set to today's music and will teach basic movements of modern dance. No experience is required.


Futsal Soccer League: kindergarten - 3rd grade (Co-ed)
*Specialized indoor soccer program using a weighted ball.

  •  K - 1st at 5:45pm (Max. of 60 players)
  • 2nd - 3rd at 6:30pm (Max. of 40 players)

Cost: $40 for Members & $60 for Program Members

Practice one evening per week (Monday - Friday at 7:00pm) and games on Saturdays (between 11:30am - 4:30pm). This developmental league is designed for all levels! Practice will involve teaching soccer fundamentals through drills and fun games. Games will be played in the YMCA Field House. Children will be divided into teams accordingly. Team shirts are included in the program cost. Team pictures (and individual pictures if desired) will also be conducted by Glen Rutherford Photography. Enrollment forms are located in the flyer racks and the front desk of the Wadsworth YMCA. Enrollment forms can also be emailed to you directly from Ryan Reavy. Registration opens online or in-house on Sunday, April 21st, 2019

Kindercamp is a 6 week program offered in the Summer. The weeks vary June - August. Children ages 3-5 years old have the opportunity to make a craft, play outside, tumble, read a story, socialize and make memories for their summer!

In addition, they students will learn new skills to prepare them for Preschool and/or Kindergarten. As your child (ren) learn with us, you can take this opportunity to have some quality you time!

 *Maximum of 15 participants per week. Don't delay!

Tuesday - Friday this program is offered from 9:30-11:30am. The cost is $35 for Members and $65 for Program Members.

*Participants may be signed up for just 1 week or all weeks. It is completely up to you and your family!

Summer playground program 

Location: Central Intermediate School (CIS)
When: Monday - Thursday 9:30am-12:00pm (June 10th, 2019 - July 18th, 2019)

Ages: 6-12 Years Old
Cost: Free. (Children must live in the City of Wadsworth and be present from 9:30am-12:00pm.)

Children will have fun playing Indoors and Outdoors with arts/crafts, games and sports. While making new friends!

Registration: Registration opens on April 21st, 2019 (In-House). Parent must register each child and sign all waivers to participate. Children will need to be signed in/out each day unless the waiver to walk home has been signed. Registration is Free for all who attend.  

This is a collaborative effort between the City of Wadsworth and the Wadsworth YMCA. Register at the YMCA or the site upon drop off on the first day. This program is not affiliated with the Wadsworth City Schools.
