Our Programs
Here at Lake Anna YMCA Community Center we believe our community's growth--of spirit, mind and body--is based on the individual's development in relationship to the whole of the community. Our programs offer everything--social, educational and sports programs, community forums and childcare--to help build strong kids, strong families and strong communities.
Wellness
More than just physical health, wellness is the pursuit and maintenance
of a strong spirit, mind and body. Our Lake Anna YMCA Community Center helps
people embrace these beliefs through education and achievement.
Physical Therapy
In conjunction with Barberton Citizens Hospital, our unique physical therapy program uses medical technology, trainers and cardiovascular and strength-building programs to aide in physical rehabilitation.
Education
Through classes led by therapists, trainers and physicians, Lake Anna
YMCA Community Center provides tools for enabling people to actively pursue
and live a healthy lifestyle.
Volunteer
As a YMCA volunteer, you can help lead a group discussion, be a role model
for young people, work at the front desk or organize a racquetball league.
Volunteer opportunities are available.
Seniors
The Barberton Parks & Recreation Department operates the Barberton Community Center Active Adult Division that offers a wide variety of programs specifically designed for seniors. The YMCA will offer exercise classes for active older adults and the Silver Sneakers Fitness Program in the YMCA facility.
Family Activities
Juggling family, friends and work can sometimes require a magic wand. Families of different walks can share similar stories and discover ways to build stronger communities.
Fitness
While physical fitness is vital to a person's well-being, not everyone exercises the same way. We've got a wide variety of structured and relaxed fitness programs designed just for you.
Child Care
As the largest provider of child care in the U.S., the YMCA cares for a diverse group of children. Our priority is not only the healthy growth of a child's character, but also the education for families to use throughout the child's development.
Camping
A fun activity for all ages, camping brings magic to the air. Summer camp, Day Camp, Camp Y-Noah and Rotary Camp for special needs each use the camp experience to promote learning and individual growth in a structured and safe environment.
Basketball
Since Basketball was invented at the YMCA, we know the Game. Practices,
pickup games and leagues in our new gym could help make you the next Magic
Johnson.
Aerobics
You'll want to bring a water bottle and towel to these classes. Whether it's for an intense cardio workout or a low impact routine, we have just the program to help you get into shape.
Aquatics
Since the YMCA opened the first indoor swimming pool in 1885, it has created an aquatics program for kids and adults, seniors and athletes. Our lifeguards are among the best trained in the world. Safety is our focus.
