AKRON ROTARY CAMP
Akron Rotary Camp would not be the place it is today without the tireless work of our many amazing volunteers and seasonal staff. These amazing people provide us with many opportunities we would not be able to do without their help. Through their hard work and dedication of these individuals we are able to change the lives of our amazing campers every time they come to camp. While the description of all of the opportunities we have available are listed below, all of our applications must fill out an application and have three reference forms completed to apply.
Is there really a better way to spend your summer than at camp enriching the lives of the campers you serve? You get to spend your days outside playing, having fun, and learning more about yourself than you ever though possible. To apply please submit one application
and three reference forms

Our counselors are the people that help make camp so magical. They spend all of their time making sure our campers are safe, participating in activities, and most importantly having fun. Our counselors spend the most time working directly with our campers, and therefore have the opportunity to make the biggest impact on them. Our counselor to camper ratio is 1:3 and our staff are expected to participate in, as well as facilitate, all of the activities our campers participate in. Our counselors also become experts in adapting and modifying activities so that everyone, regardless of ability level, is able to participate in the activities. Also, our counselors are responsible for the care and well-being of our campers. This means they may have to help campers with feeding, personal hygiene, as well as managing behaviors.
Rotary Camp doesn't just take place during the summer, we run year round programs! Our respite season runs from September until May. During this time we run Respite weekends which take place during 2-3 weekends a month. Respite counselors spend the weekend working with our campers, meaning they arrive at camp on Friday evening and leave Sunday morning.
All Rotary Camp staff members are at least 18 years of age.
