What's the Protocol?

All wellness center branches of the Akron Area YMCA will relax the mask requirement for anyone entering their buildings and participating in exercise programs, meetings or other forms of gathering. 

Coffee will return as will the areas for conversation and community along with opening saunas, drinking fountains, all lockers and fitness equipment and spaces previously closed due to COVID-19 restrictions.

Signs for 6 foot distancing will also be removed.

Regular sanitizing and cleaning will continue, as will the request  for all members and guests to be respectful of everyone’s personal space and varying comfort with the new protocols, as some folks may prefer to continue to wear masks and practice social distancing.

Face coverings will be strongly encouraged but no longer required.  Other changes will begin as well to bring child care programs in line with Ohio's new overall guidance.  

As we move forward, we will adhere to the recommendations of our state government, local health departments and the CDC.
