Be A Social Media Champion 

Do you LOVE the Y? Have you found a sense of community, relationships, and belonging? We love that for you--and want to make more people feel that way, too. We need YOU to help us spread the word about how incredible the Y is!

Here's what we're asking you to do:

Post once a week on your personal social sites (Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, TikTok) about programs/people/promos at the YMCA branch to gain comments and traction. This is a branding opportunity for the YMCA where you can be a big part of spreading the word about what your branch is doing with Child Care, Aquatics, Group Ex, staff, etc. -- the things that interest you and your followers. 

Use the hashtag for your location every time, and feel free to add others! 

Examples:  #RiverfrontY; #GreenY; #LakeAnnaY; #WadsworthY;#FirestoneParkY; #KohlY; #AkronAreaY

If you’ve answered YES to both, you may be our next SOCIAL MEDIA CHAMPION for your branch.

Please fill out our application and if selected, you could get a Y -- "Social Media Champion" shirt and possibly a FREE membership if your posts get good traction.  Oh -- and you'll always gets lots of love and appreciation from us.

Signing this agreement does not guarantee you will be chosen as a social media ambassador. Someone will contact you within a week to let you know if you have been chosen.
In agreeing to be a social media ambassador for the Akron Area YMCA, I agree to allow the Akron Area YMCA to follow and monitor my social media pages. I agree to post on my assigned social media channels once every month, or whenever I am directed, for the duration of marketing season, from August 2021-July 2022.
My posts will honor the YMCA's mission (to put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind, and body for all) and voice (determined, nurturing, genuine, hopeful, and welcoming). My posts will not use vulgar language, contribute to cyber bullying, include inappropriate images, or participate in any negative conversation online. I will always portray the YMCA in a positive light.
In exchange for social media posts, I understand I will receive no monetary reward, but YMCA merchandise instead.
I understand that the Akron Area YMCA reserves the right to end this agreement at any point in time.
