Determining where members fall on our sliding membership scale is handled by YMCA branches in a fair and consistent manner. Every Y member receives the same membership benefits, regardless of whether or not they receive financial assistance. Y members can feel confident knowing that they are a part of an organization that cares greatly for the well-being of all people, and is committed to youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility.

What's a Sliding Membership Scale?

A sliding membership scale is just that--a sliding scale! After someone applies, our Membership Directors look through all the information submitted to determine a new membership rate. We take different things into account, such as household income, difficult circumstances, and other services/programs received. Scroll down to see how to apply & what you'll need for your application!

How to Apply

To apply for a sliding membership rate, simply apply online below or complete the paper application form and provide the requested information regarding income and family size to your branch membership director for processing.

If applying online, please note that the entire application must be completed in one sitting. You can not save & return later. The application is mobile friendly--you can apply either from your phone or on a computer, whichever is easiest for you!
