Lake Anna YMCA Community Garden

Fighting Hunger and Teaching Responsibility
One third of kids in and around Northeast Ohio grow up in homes without enough food. That is a staggering figure, one which caused the Lake Anna YMCA to act. We are looking for volunteers to seed, weed, and harvest – and provide a lot of love and dedication – so the Y can create a community garden that provides fresh produce to families in need. Providing nutritious food is one goal of the garden.
On June 21, 2013, as part of the United Way Day of Action, volunteers from Omnova Solutions, worked to fence in the lot, build the raised gardens, and plant vegetables. In one day, a vacant lot was transformed into an amazing garden!

If you are interested in helping with the garden this year, please contact Randy Booth at 330-745-9622 or randallb@akronymca.org
